Chracter analysis of Absalom Kumalo

Private Life:
When I first read about him I thought he was caring and helpful because he left his home, village and family to help his aunt find her husband in Johannesburg. He was a respectful young man.

Public Life:
When he went to Johannesburg he had lost his morals, got involved with the wrong company and was led astray. He was no longer that respectful young man but was now a criminal. He was seen as a criminal.

Peoples' perceptions:
He is irresponsible- he gets a woman pregnant before marriage. He had an opportunity to change his life by entering the reformatory but instead he kills someone.
